Every Friday we will feature a story from an agent on the ground. This week’s story comes from an anonymous source who now knows to make sure the tenant always takes everything with them.
The landlord of a property that was being sold had accepted an offer, the pest and building had been done and it had then exchanged.
Just before settlement the selling agent called me whilst she was doing her pre-settlement inspection with her buyer, in a flap to say the least.
Apparently, whilst doing the pre-settlement, the purchaser wanted to check if there was any ceiling insulation and hoisted himself up to take a look.
Curiously, there were some large green garbage bags left by the tenants. The agent opened one up and to their genuine surprise found the bags to be full of marijuana.
I then had to ring my vendors (not the occupiers) who were older upstanding community members to say “The client won't settle on the property until the pot is removed”.
It disappeared overnight and the property settled.
Hate those awkward phone calls.
