Raine & Horne South Australia has launched a specialist property management office in Gawler, situated near the Barossa Valley.

Led by Raine & Horne SA director Chris Weston and co-principal, property management specialist Lisa Kotsano, Raine & Horne Gawler represents the final piece in the large network’s strategy to service Adelaide’s northern fringes.

“Gawler is on the frontier of Adelaide’s urban sprawl and along with our offices in Salisbury and Two Wells/Lewiston, we are now strategically placed to service Adelaide’s north, as well as the Barossa Valley,” said Michael McDonald, chief executive of Raine & Horne South Australia.

“The launch of Raine & Horne Gawler means we can now focus our attention on suburbs to the west of the CBD, where our commitment to the latest technology and digital marketing will help us open more offices and target independents.”

Mr McDonald attributes the shift in real estate networks such as Raine & Horne to the growing recognition that “we can do the heavy lifting in terms of technology, marketing and systems, which allows real estate specialists to get on with the job of selling and managing properties”.

According to Ms Kotsano, the Gawler rental market is competitive, with vacancy rates as low as two per cent.

“This has pushed the average weekly rent up to $300 a week, and this will only increase as more people move to Gawler,” said Ms Kotsano.

“Gawler has a competitive rental market because we have decent employment opportunities since the town is a major service hub for the Barossa, while commuting times to Adelaide are manageable thanks to a direct train line to the city and the North Expressway.

“Long term, the rental market will always be underpinned by people moving to Gawler from Adelaide and the Barossa and choosing to rent before they buy to ensure living in a regional hub is right for them,” she added.
