A real estate network has used a Valentine’s Day campaign to try to repair the negative image around property management.

Realmark executive director Anita Percudani said the group sent all its tenants and landlords a ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ card, personally signed by their property manager.

“We also do a whole series of marketing - we do posters in our windows, we go out onto the streets and hand out brochures, heart-shaped mints, stress balls and little Valentine’s Day cards,” she said.

Ms Percudani told Residential Property Manager that the idea was created approximately three years ago to flip the negative view of property management on its head.

“It has really proven to be something that has got us a lot of traction and we have a strong response in terms of bringing on new managements,” she said.

Ms Percudani said the campaign has also had a positive effect on her staff.

“The girls come back absolutely buzzed and excited, and they sit down at their desks and are full of energy again,” she said.

“I really do believe that if everybody created positivity around property management, it would no longer be considered a thankless job – that is what we are trying to eradicate.”
