Top 10 rental yields revealed

New data from January has highlighted the Australian suburbs with the highest gross rental yields

According to CoreLogic RP Data statistics for January, Darwin was the only capital city represented on the top 10 list, with the other suburbs coming from regional Australia.

Mission Beach in Far North Queensland took out first place with a gross rental yield of 29 per cent, the highest by over 10 percentage points.

This result was a staggering leap from the five per cent rental yield produced by the suburb in January 2014.

Port Vincent in the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia recorded a gross rental yield of 17 per cent.

Bicheno in Tasmania also produced a 17 per cent gross rental yield over the period.

Mossy Point in southern NSW recorded a 15 per cent gross rental yield over January.

Stapylton in the Gold Coast also recorded a 15 per cent gross rental yield.

Both Zuccoli and Johnston in Darwin produced gross rental yields of 13 per cent.

Mount Morgan in Queensland and Huskisson in southern NSW also recorded a 13 per cent gross rental yield.

Coleraine was the only Victorian entry in the top 10 ranking, and also recorded a 13 per cent gross rental yield
