Hiring out a whole cinema to show tenants appreciation has been a small cost for a great gain, according to a PM director.
In a video interview with Residential Property Manager, Property Management HQ director Kelley-Ann Seaton says she believes it is extremely important for agencies to treat landlords and tenants equally.
“We do focus on our tenants quite a lot,” Ms Seaton says.
To show their appreciation, she says the business has now hosted two movie screenings where tenants are invited to enjoy a new-release movie at the expense of the company.
“The last one was The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, which was really great – the tenants loved that.
“We don’t let them talk about business on those nights, we talk about social things and keep business to business times.”
Ms Seaton says they also do lucky door prizes, such as mini competitions to see who has the best lawn that month.
She says hosting a movie night costs about $2,000, which works out to be $8 per seat in the cinema.
“It is a little bit outside the box and sometimes people might look at that like a negative thing, but we look at that as spending a little bit of money to get us in a great position with our tenants.”
