Two new software developments could mean less tedious office work for property managers and a major value-add for tenants.
Real Estate Institute of NSW chief executive Tim McKibbin said an inspection report app called REI Inspect Live is being beta-tested by 50 members of REINSW.
Mr McKibbin said it will allow PMs to conduct inspection reports on mobile devices and synchronise them with REI Forms Live with the touch of a button.
“The stand-out feature is the ability to avoid double data-keying,” he told Residential Property Manager. “And the formatting is being replicated from our paper forms.”
REI Forms Live, an online agreements and forms product, is provided by six different real estate institutes.
REINSW is in talks with the NSW Government to integrate REI Live Forms with official records, according to Mr McKibbin.
“The PM might be able to say to the incoming tenant, ‘Would you like me to notify the government that you have moved?’ and the government could update your electoral role entry, update your driver’s licence,” he said.
“The dream we want to bring to reality is to give property managers the opportunity to also provide other solutions to their clients when they are dealing with them.”
Meanwhile, REI Forms Live has been fully integrated with Console’s sales and property management system, GatewayLive.
“The integration is a real time-saver for our members and Console’s customers, who can now access REI Forms Live directly in GatewayLive and pre-fill agreements and forms with information such as the owner, property and tenant details,” Mr McKibbin said.
He added principals will also be able to ensure the completion of any documentation is accurate.
“Once the data goes into the system it can be repopulated – principals no longer run the risk of that particular data being inaccurately keyed into subsequent documents,” he said.
“It takes away the opportunity for human error.”
