A small Japanese apartment has made ingenious use of sliding walls to create a living area with no fewer than 12 rooms.
Thanks to a ceiling rail and wheels, the walls can be repositioned to create a kitchen, bedroom, living room and other spaces.
The Barcode Room was designed in Tokyo, where floor space is extremely limited. It can be customised and configured to suit a variety of functions.
This system can be installed into new and existing studio apartments as well as communal spaces such as offices, galleries and stores.
