YouTube: Laughing in the face of Sydney’s market

This week’s YouTube clip puts a hilarious spin on Sydney’s property pricing bubble and the stresses of bidding at auction.

The video (see below) follows a first home buyer couple bidding on an overpriced Sydney studio apartment.

The auctioneer captures the sentiment of Sydney’s booming market by explaining: “In this country, you’re no one until you own real estate… so you better buy something and you need to buy it soon.”

The absurdity of the premise cuts close to the truth, with Sydney’s median house price hitting $1 million in July this year.
