A leading mortgage broker has partnered with a challenger online portal to launch a new app that allows landlords to quickly create free rental listings.
Developed by N1 Finance and Seekahome, Snailapp will assist landlords in sourcing tenants directly with its built-in messenger service.
N1 Finance managing director Ren Wong said DIY rental apps, such as Snailapp, are high in demand.
“We know many landlords are happy with their existing property agents,” Mr Wong said.
“This app targets those landlords looking for a quick, free and simple alternative to existing channels to source tenants.
“The unique selling point for the app is it facilitates communication easily between landlord and tenant since Snailapp is likely to be used by the landlord, not the agent.”
Mr Wong said the app was designed to be user friendly with minimal required steps for each action.
“This is why Snailapp has been built from the ground up from a user experience perspective and we expect most listings to be uploaded within 90 seconds, provided a description has already been written,” he said.
Looking ahead, Mr Wong expects the app to match hundreds of tenants and landlords in its first 12 months.
“There has already been some positive feedback from current users,” he said.
“Once the platform hits scale, we believe there is a great opportunity to take on the established platforms, and this is part of our value-adding service to our existing investor clientele.”
Snailapp is available now on iOS and Android devices.
