The PopUp House is making housing construction as easy as building with Lego.

Developed by French architecture firm, Multipod Studio, the PopUp House can be shipped anywhere and costs between US$1,200 and US$1,900 (A$1,600-A$2,540) per square metre, depending on the quality of the materials and desired features, according to Oddity Central.

The PopUp House kit consists of patented recyclable wooden building blocks made of EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam insulation, sandwiched between waterproof laminated veneer lumber boards – making the homes airtight and watertight while locking in heat.

Consumers can opt for an instruction manual or have the company’s construction team install the house, which takes four days to build and only requires an electric screwdriver.

The prototype (see below), located in southern France, is 150 square metres and includes a kitchen, dining area, terrace, two bathrooms, office, master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms.
