An Australian start-up says its app will help property managers better facilitate and streamline their daily tenant management.

MyMobilePM is a time-management tool for real estate agents and property managers.

The app is intended to save agencies money by simplifying a PM’s workflow and eliminating the costs involved with tenant communication.

Early adapters of the app are experiencing a 30 per cent drop in the number of incoming calls from renters and landlords, MyMobilePM said in a statement.

“It’s going to change the way we work and help us become faster, more effective and efficient. We felt that in this day and age, basic information should be readily available on a mobile device, immediately, accurately and cost effectively, so MyMobilePM was born,” MyMobilePM co-creator Sharon Whorlow said.

The app gives landlords 24/7 access to lease information, rent deposit details and rent payment notifications. Tenants will also have the same access, as well as access to legislation information and rental due dates.

“Like any of us in the industry, we are focused on continually upping the quality and improving our service offering,” Ms Whorlow said.

Ms Whorlow and her co-creator Breearne Byrne have 25 years’ experience in the property industry, as a realtor and property manager, which is how the idea for the app came about.

The pair hope MyMobilePM will teach tenants not to contact their PM for their smaller needs. They can consult the app instead, which will reduce stress and disruption for PMs.

"There are some basic and time-consuming tasks that can be provided ‘at a glance’ by anyone using our app which releases you to focus on service,” Ms Whorlow said.

All of us in the industry are dedicated to customer service so we want to spend more time on relationship building and less on the mundane. Anything we can do to minimise disruptions is a bonus.”
