LJ Hooker has continued to flesh out its national growth strategy with the appointment of two acclaimed specialists this month.

Steve Mutton joins as Queensland development manager while awarded auctioneer David Holmes has been appointed as national auctions manager.

Mr Mutton brings extensive growth and franchise leadership, having owned six Ray White agencies on the Gold Coast. He is tasked with growing the brand’s Queensland network in emerging markets, from Coolangatta to Cairns.

Mr Holmes will offer customers trained and accredited auctioneers to deliver results for sellers. He will also oversee LJ Hooker’s newly established national auction services.

LJ Hooker network chief Graeme Hyde welcomed the expansion of the team.

He said that he is looking forward to tapping into the “expertise and experience” of both men.

“Steve’s background spans the spectrum of property from residential sales to property development, auctioneering, training and as a franchise owner,” Mr Hyde said.

“While he’s carved a very successful career in south-east Queensland, his connections and understanding of the wider state, as well as his experience running his own businesses, places him well to lead LJ Hooker’s network growth throughout Queensland.”

Mr Hyde also applauded Mr Holmes’ appointment.

“David is a seasoned auctioneer who’s enjoyed a career across much of the eastern seaboard, and won numerous industry awards.

“He has recently headed up his own business, Metro Auctions, and he will be central to the development of our auction capabilities around Australia."

Mr Hyde continued: "We will utilise his mentoring skills for training and resources to ensure a holistic level of customer service for our auction campaigns as well as our overall sales training.”

The chief said that Queensland is “definitely” a key growth market.

The appointments follow the earlier recruitment of industry veteran Jason Rose to the position of national growth coach.
