One highly niched real estate group in Brisbane has opened an office in the city's central business district, bringing to five the number of offices it has opened in the last two years, with three of them opening this year.
Place Estate Agents has announced the opening of Place CBD by former Ray White business owner John Fredericks.
CEO Damian Hackett said that the aim of the expansion is to dedicate the Place brand to Brisbane only, and to grow it by “hand-picking” quality talent across the city.
He also said that the focused boutique network plans to double the number of its offices over the next five years.
“The strategy is unique,” Mr Hackett said.
“Place is incredibly focused. It’s Brisbane-only. Our growth has been slow and deliberate, with the best quality operators across the region opening offices.
“It’s a model where we use our 26 years of experience running a back end of an office to do the business support of all the new offices, enabling principals to focus solely on what they do best, and that is, listing and selling real estate, property management, growing and leading their teams.”
Mr Hackett said that the strategy is appealing to business owners.
“All the other functions such as recruitment, accounts payable and receivable, financial statements, contracts, payroll, marketing, advertising, public relations and administration is run out of the back-end business services, which takes the strain off the business owners.”
He also said the Place culture is stronger because their head office is involved in the everyday operations of each of the businesses.
“We’re embedded and ingrained in the business because we are a part of every transaction,” the CEO said.
“We’re at the coal face with our people, making sure operations are running seamlessly.”
