For the month of October, Domain’s prominent illuminated sign on top of the Fairfax Media building in Sydney will turn pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Renowned for its illuminating property conversations in both print and digital, Domain is using its reach this month for a commendable philanthropic cause.
Chief marketing officer Melina Cruickshank said that it is an initiative that Domain is proud to be a part of.
“We feel honoured to use our position to assist with driving awareness of breast cancer research and prevention within our community. It’s very important.”
She said that breast cancer, excluding non-melanoma cancer, remains the most common cancer among Australian women.
Ms Cruickshank also said that as Australia’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October has become a focus month for driving awareness for research through fundraising and support for those already impacted by the disease.
“It’s also a gentle reminder to both men and women of the importance of early detection,” the CMO said.
Ms Cruickshank said that those who wanted to show support for breast cancer research and prevention could do so through a number of locally based and national events, including Pink Ribbon, the McGrath Foundation and the Global Illumination Committee.
