Another global network is looking to muscle up its Australian footprint as it makes a strategic appointment to its executive team in one of its key geographies.

Savills Australia has appointed Nic Purdue as director of commercial sales for its Canberra office.

Mr Purdue will work closely with managing director Andrew Stewart to focus on both institutional and private client markets.

Mr Stewart said that Mr Purdue’s appointment is an important milestone in the group’s growth plan.

“The ability to recruit a talent of Nic’s calibre is a strong message to the market that the growth strategy for Savills ACT is well and truly underway,” the managing director said.

“We hope to announce more recruits shortly.”

Savills Australia CEO Paul Craig called the move “a major win” and said that it will help bolster the agency team in Canberra.

“We are now 18 months into a new growth plan for the Australian business, and building a strong platform in our nation’s capital is an important part of our growth,” Mr Craig said.

“We will use this expanding of Savills’ platform to further explore opportunities covering government, private and institutional requirements, and we are excited to welcome Nic to our team.”

Mr Purdue joins from Knight Frank, where for the past three years he had led the ACT institutional sales business.

He brings a wealth of transactional experience to the Savills team, with a strong track record in sales across a range of assets and clients.
