The unique partnership model employed by one boutique group, which enables it to take an ownership position in new offices, is the catalyst for the latest office to have joined its ranks in one of Sydney’s growing southern suburbs.
Laing+Simmons has announced that it will open an office in Sydney’s inner south suburb of Rosebery, with Chris Skarlatos at the helm.
Mr Skarlatos said that he was attracted to the Laing+Simmons brand because of the partnership model.
The agent said that the model provides full back-end support, from trust accounting, salaries and wages and human resources to compliance and reporting requirements.
“It was important for me, in terms of building a strong business and valuable asset for the long-term future, to partner with a group with a strong reputation, great brand, powerful marketing and the right values,” Mr Skarlatos said.
“The Laing+Simmons corporate culture emphasises that everyone is treated the same, whether you’re the vendor of a $10 million home or a tenant looking for a one-bedroom rental.”
Mr Skarlatos said that he shares the same values, so he finds Laing+Simmons to be “a great fit”.
“It means I can focus on listing and selling property, serving customers and nurturing staff, which is one of the most satisfying aspects of the job.”
Stan Platis, the executive director and head of growth of Dexar Group (Laing+Simmons’ parent company), said that the driver behind the partnership model is to empower agents.
“So they can focus on creating the best possible customer experience,” the executive said.
“It’s a partnership in the truest sense, with compelling benefits for both the agents we partner with and Dexar, too.
“We invest significantly in new technologies, and we’re always investigating new and better systems to integrate into our offering. These investments are for the benefit of our partners so that together we can share greater success.”
Mr Platis added that there are many working parts to the model.
“The partnership model provides us with the flexibility to take a co-ownership position in a new office where the person and the circumstances make it the right fit.
“It’s about partnering with the best local operators, like-minded people who share our values and who want to build a strong asset for the future.”
Laing+Simmons network growth manager Travis Wentriro said that the company’s recruitment program can play “a major role” in the successful staffing of the new Rosebery office.
“Our recruitment program, as well as our training and professional development initiatives, are powerful points of difference for our network to draw upon,” the manager said.
“From the on-boarding, induction and training we provide at a corporate level to the staff across the offices, the recruitment program we offer our network, and the dedicated coach that helps our offices maximise their potential, our culture is about treating everyone equally and with respect.”
Laing+Simmons Rosebery will open its doors in early 2018.
