McGrath Estate Agents has continued with its drive into lucrative Melbourne by opening an office in one of the city’s rising markets.

McGrath has opened its Coburg/Brunswick office in Melbourne’s trendy inner north.

McGrath executive director John McGrath said that Melbourne continues to be an important market for the company.

“Melbourne is such a vibrant and vital market in the Australian real estate landscape,” the CEO said.

“It has performed very strongly over the past 12 months, and while the market is starting to slow, I believe Melbourne still has opportunity for good growth in the long term, albeit slower growth in the short term. And I believe a breather is healthy for any boom markets.”

Mr McGrath said that the potential in Melbourne is immense.

“Melbourne is a city people want to live and invest in, which is reflected in its high rates of population growth, strong jobs market and many liveability accolades.

“However, as price growth moderates, the next six to 12 months will offer good buying opportunities for those looking to break into one of the nation’s most sought after markets in a truly international city.”

McGrath Coburg/Brunswick will be led by Michael Chan and Tania Toti, who will oversee a team of 13 agents.

Mr McGrath said that it is a “great pleasure” to welcome them all to the company.

“Michael, Tania and their entire team represent exactly what we look for in new partnerships — hyper local commitment, passion and skill. We see great synergy between the Coburg/Brunswick area and our traditional roots in inner Sydney, where we started out almost 30 years ago.

“We have placed great attention on building the right relationships with the very best local talent, and we look forward to welcoming more high-quality partners in the future,” Mr McGrath said.

Mr Chan said that McGrath is aligned with his core values of integrity, passion, process, excellence and community.

“Our desire is to provide world-class service and achieve premium results for all of our clients,” the director said.

“McGrath [has] set the benchmark in this respect and we’re thrilled to be partnering with such a well-respected brand.”

Mr Chan added that Coburg and Pascoe Vale offer a vibrant multicultural and community vibe. He said that neighboring Brunswick has experienced an influx of young independents attracted to its café culture, restaurant and bar scene.

“Lifestyle is a key driver for the Coburg, Pascoe Vale and Brunswick markets,” Mr Chan said.

“The region is culturally rich with a lively village feel. Proximity to the CBD and Melbourne University, good transport links and a diverse selection of eateries and bars attracts a wide range of buyers.”

The McGrath Coburg/Brunswick office will service the key suburbs of Brunswick, Brunswick East, Brunswick West, Coburg, Coburg North, Pascoe Vale South, Pascoe Vale and Fawkner.
