One of RE/MAX’s top performers has been recognised as one of regional Queensland’s most influential people.

RE/MAX Precision’s Scott Mackey is Bundaberg’s only property industry identity in the inaugural Bundaberg's Power 50, a list of “movers, shakers and shapers” put together by News Mail in association with Central Queensland University.

Judges from the newspaper and the university finalised the awards by taking into consideration what made the person influential.

Described as a “fascinating snapshot of the way power is wielded in our city”, the list includes leaders in all types of fields — business, agriculture, the arts, politics, community services, education, the law, the media and more.

Scott is the only real estate agent named, and is the only person in real estate-related sectors such as strata management and motel accommodation.

Around 100 names were put forward for consideration before five judges helped select the region’s most influential people.

Worldwide winner

The global brand has become a regular recipient of awards, after being ranked fifth earlier this year among the 500 franchise companies included in this year’s Entrepreneur Franchise 500 ranking.

RE/MAX rose five spots to finish in its highest ranking in the survey.

Only McDonald’s, 7-Eleven, Dunkin’ Donuts and The UPS Store ranked higher.

Co-CEO of RE/MAX Adam Contos said at the time that the results speak for themselves.

“Nobody in the world sells more real estate than RE/MAX as measured by residential transaction sides,” Mr Contos said.

“Broker/owners and agents want to be affiliated with the number one name in real estate because of our brand awareness, continued education, on-demand training, competitive advantages and technology.

“Entrepreneur continues to rank us higher than our competitors, and that’s because of the unmatched quality of the real estate professionals in the RE/MAX network.”
