One independent agency, in the space of a decade, has gone from operating out of a two-bedroom apartment to managing over $1.3 billion worth of assets.
Bruce Oliver and Ivan Tandyo started Xynergy Realty in 2008 and are using the anniversary to reflect on their achievements.
Chief among those is managing 2,000 properties and employing over 50 staff, Mr Tandyo said.
“Over the past decade, we’ve grown our team from two of us to 50 employees spread across eight offices, both in Australia and overseas,” Mr Tandyo said.
Mr Tandyo started Xynergy after identifying a gap in the Australian market for Asian investors during the global financial crisis.
Using his knowledge of the property market, Mr Tandyo wanted to facilitate a process that took care of the numbers and management for investors.
Starting with just $15,000 in capital, Xynergy Realty now manages a portfolio over $1 billion and has sold over $1 billion worth of property.
Portfolio highlights for the group include being granted exclusive overseas sales rights to big Melbourne projects, including Setia’s Fulton Lane and Sapphire developments.
“At the end of the day, our success comes down to understanding the client and what’s best for them. This means regularly putting yourself in your client’s shoes,” Mr Tandyo said.
“It’s an ongoing learning process and you need to be adaptable.”
Xynergy isn’t resting on its laurels and has plans for further expansion, with new offices being eyed for Melbourne and Indonesia.
“Having been in operation for 10 years, we’ve been through one whole property cycle in Australia and this experience has led us to never over-promise because the market fluctuates.”
