The opening of a new regional office comes at a watershed moment for one Sydney agency, as changing market conditions push people further away from the city.
Laing+Simmons, which operates mostly in Sydney, is opening a new local office in Taree to service the Manning Valley area.
The office will be run by local agent Carley Burke, who brings over 10 years of local real estate experience to the office.
The opening of Laing+Simmons Manning Valley comes at a time when the impacts of affordability in major cities takes hold and people look to regional areas, Ms Burke said.
“Taree and its surrounds are on the cusp of new growth in a property market sense, as more and more people seek to escape — or are priced out of — the Sydney market.
“Growth in Sydney and other capital city markets is tipped to remain relatively flat in the near term, which turns people’s attention to key regional markets. The Manning Valley is in a unique position to capitalise and the need for local expertise will be even more critical.”
A driving force for Ms Burke joining Laing+Simmons was the strong performance by Laing+Simmons Port Macquarie, the other key regional location for the group.
Ms Burke wants to establish Manning Valley as a community-minded business for the long term as that is the key to success in the area.
“Our mission is clear: we want to make a positive difference to the local economy as well as in the lives of our customers,” the agent said.
“We’re locals, too, so it’s a challenge we’re looking forward to.”
Laing+Simmons network growth manager Travis Wentriro said that the opening was evidence that the group’s regional expansion focus was working.
“The team behind Laing+Simmons Manning Valley is the ideal fit with the Laing+Simmons culture, which draws on local knowledge to emphasise the customer experience,” Mr Wentriro said.
“Our focus now turns to working with Laing+Simmons Manning Valley to enable the team to grow a successful business for the long term, providing all the tools, systems, technology, training, recruitment and other support services that define the Laing+Simmons point of difference.”
