Led by an experienced team, a niche Victorian network is opening a new office in an up-and-coming Melbourne neighbourhood.
The Barry Plant Group is opening a new office in Newport, a rising suburb only 7 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.
Newport and its surroundings grew in median price from $950,000 in January 2017 to $1,067,500 in December 2017 and is set to increase over 2018, according to the group.
The office will be led by directors Paps Manikhot and Tony Skrekovski, both of whom have a long experience in real estate.
Mr Manikhot has been in the industry for seven years and said that he looked forward to selling in an area like Newport.
“Newport is a bright, vibrant, multicultural community that is popular with a diverse range of home buyers who are drawn to the unique blend of historical heritage, rich lifestyle and community involvement,” Mr Manikhot said.
“Newport is only a short 6–7 kilometres into the CBD, making this an area most attractive to young professionals.”
Mr Skrekovski has been an agent since 1994 and joined the Barry Plant Group in 2005, where, as director of the Point Cook Office, he was awarded the REIV Agency of the Year.
Mr Skrekovski said that he was committed to bringing his best to the area and raising expectations of the neighbourhood.
“Barry Plant Newport is new, fresh and innovative. We are there to raise the bar and bring a new approach to an area that deserves the best,” Mr Skrekovski said.
The directors will be joined in the business by Ray Harb and Simon Khouri, who bring with them experience and local knowledge and expertise.
Mr Harb grew up in the area and has since worked in real estate at Point Cook, and Mr Khouri moved to the area in 1998 and has enjoyed a 15-year career in the area.
Together, the team has more than 60 years of real estate experience and said that they are determined to achieve the best results for their clients.
