A Brisbane agency has announced a new principal for its Ascot office to better position itself in the market.

Place Estate Agents has hired Patrick McKinnon alongside Peter Burgin to lead the Ascot office as its co-principals.

The Ascot office opened its doors in 2010 and has been led by Peter Burgin and his team of nine who service the surrounding inner north Brisbane suburbs.

Place CEO Damian Hackett said that Mr McKinnon was hired to strengthen Place’s services in the Hamilton/Ascot area.

“Our current principal and chief auctioneer, Peter Burgin, has built a strong office in this inner-city patch and a team that delivers a quality service to the area,” Mr Hackett said.

“This new appointment of joint leadership will further enhance our abilities to provide the best outcomes for clients in this vital part of Brisbane.”

Mr Hackett added that Place has plans for future growth and the Ascot office is a part of that plan.

“There are plenty of avenues for growth across Brisbane and Place has plans for future expansion,” the executive said.

Mr McKinnon started his career in real estate in 2009 and most recently was working in neighbouring Hamilton for Coronis.

Mr McKinnon is excited to join Place, which he said has a great brand identity in the market.

“Place and quality are synonymous. It’s a reputable brand I’ve always admired, particularly for its focus being solely dedicated to Brisbane. I’m thrilled to be joining the company’s leadership team alongside Peter Burgin, who is a reputable operator in the community,” the agent said.

Mr McKinnon said that the Ascot market was important to Place because of the above-average sales available in the area.

“Ascot is a flagship suburb like New Farm and Bulimba in Brisbane. Some surrounding suburbs, including Hamilton, Clayfield and Ascot, have some of the highest average sale prices in the region, so for Place, it was very important to have someone who is already well established in the community,” the new hire said.

Place currently has 15 offices servicing the Brisbane area and has been operating since 2002.
