Kurrawa Surf Club based at Kurrawa Beach, which is currently a premium event space for the Commonwealth Games, has attracted The Agency as a sponsor.
The Agency has announced the new deal with the surf club, which is one of the largest clubs on the Gold Coast with over 1,000 active members and 14,000 supporters.
The partnership will provide all Kurrawa Surf Club members with a 20 per cent discount on the selling fee of their property, with 5 per cent of this discount donated back to the surf lifesaving club.
The Agency will also assist the club in purchasing new rescue gear and equipment as well as in the training of new surf lifesavers.
Partnership and commercial manager at Kurrawa Mark Forbes said that the new partnership would allow the surf club to continue its mission.
“The Agency supports our patrons by providing guidance and assistance in the Gold Coast real estate market, while also benefitting our surf club and our continued mission to keep our beaches safe and provide awareness in the local area,” Mr Forbes said.
The club has been around since 1958 and in peak season can oversee the safety of over 5,000 people in a day.
These skills will no be doubt be tested during the Commonwealth Games when over 670,000 visitors descend on the glitter strip.
Local agent John Natoli said that The Agency was proud to give back to the community and to keep the lifesaving movement healthy.
“At The Agency, we are delighted to be a part of a community that supports fundraising efforts to keep this movement healthy and productive,” Mr Natoli said.
“Apart from keeping swimmers safe on our beaches, the surf lifesaving movement provides an environment that nurtures healthy living and builds confidence among our youth. At the same time, it teaches them many values that will carry them forward as outstanding citizens throughout their lives.”
