Raine & Horne has opened a new office to capture a growing, affordable and economically diverse regional area of New South Wales.

Raine & Horne Cowra has opened in NSW Central West with returning salesperson David Fagan, who was a Raine & Horne agent before moving into an agricultural sales career.

Mr Fagan, alongside wife Ruth Fagan, a Cowra Shire councillor, has established the new office with a staff of seven property professionals to offer services to Cowra, Canowindra and Woodstock.

The couple plans to grow the team at Cowra which will contribute to the town’s economic development, Mrs Fagan said.

“I don’t think people appreciate how many people real estate firms employ directly and indirectly in regional towns. The economic impact of real estate in Cowra is extensive,” she said.

The affordability of housing in Cowra is also a significant attraction to outer towners, as the median house price is $240,000, Mrs Fagan said.

“For $430,000 you can buy a substantial family home in Cowra with four bedrooms and two bathrooms,” she said.

“This figure puts a two-bedroom apartment in Sydney’s Potts Point into perspective.”

Executive chairman of Raine & Horne Angus Raine was excited to have the duo in Cowra and said that the decision to open was a strategic one.

“We’ve opened offices in strategic regional growth hubs [of] Townsville and Albury recently, and have now turned our attention to NSW’s Central West with the launch of an office in Cowra,” Mr Raine said.

“The NSW Central West is Australia’s fruit bowl and one of our most active regions, given we have award-winning offices in Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Wellington.”

For the Fagans, it is all about growing Cowra and being part of its growth.

“David and I are passionate advocates for regional communities, and I want to put my time and money where my mouth is,” Mrs Fagan said.

“We can see a strong future for Cowra, and we want to be a part of that.”
