One of the longest standing and successful offices for one niche network in NSW has a new owner who brings with her a renewed local community focus.
Laing+Simmons Hornsby has a new owner in Karen Hardy who has lived in the area for 17 years and has been in the local property market for five years.
Ms Hardy comes in with a renewed community focus that will benefit two local charities, Studio Artes and the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter.
Ms Hardy said that $250 would be donated between the charities on an ongoing basis to show the community that Laing+Simmons Hornsby’s primary focus is on its clients.
“We want to put our money where our mouth is, so when we say we’re part of the local community, we mean it. And there’s no one more deserving of support than these two wonderful initiatives,” Ms Hardy said.
Ms Hardy added that Laing+Simmons’ mission was to create relationships within the community and serve more than just people buying and selling.
“Our mission is clear: to create binding relationships with people in the local community. We want to be known in the local area as not only passionate about local real estate, but also the local community and the diverse mix of people that call our area home,” the new owner said.
The president of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter, Sallianne McClelland said that Ms Hardy can bring real change and show how easy it is to incorporate philanthropy into business.
“With a cost of $1,000 per day, we rely heavily on the support of our community to keep the doors open. Without community support, our services would not be possible and the doors would close,” Ms McClelland said.
“When local business owners like Karen Hardy of Laing+Simmons step outside the box and think about how best to give back to the community, organisations such as the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter and Studio Artes benefit greatly.”
Joining Ms Hardy in the new-look team is sales associate Ed Hallam who has also worked and grown up in the area.
Laing+Simmons managing director Leanne Pilkington said that new office showed an important step in the ongoing growth of the company.
“Laing+Simmons has enjoyed a strong presence in the Hornsby market for many years, and under Karen’s guidance, the team is set to strengthen its value proposition in the local area and become a fixture in the community for many years to come,” Ms Pilkington said.
