A niche agency has just expanded into a lucrative market in the outer suburbs of Melbourne to bring the agency’s network to 25 offices.

Franchise group O’Brien Real Estate first opened in 2013, and with the introduction of an office in Craigieburn, the group now has 25 offices.

The Craigieburn office is the third office to be out of the traditional hub of the group, which is on the east side of the Yarra River.

Corporate director Dean O’Brien said that the company’s vision was to expand further and openings in the new areas were integral to that.

“The strategy over the last 12 months into moving to the new regions was in perfect alignment with the vision of building a 50-office network,” the director said.

Mr O’Brien said that the successful growth of the network was due to moving its corporate operations to a more central location.

“The moving of our corporate operations to Chadstone has helped the brand to better service its Melbourne franchises along with the benefit of having a centralised training centre,” Mr O’Brien said.

The director of the Craigieburn office is Rick Goodman, a veteran of 26 years to the Melbourne north real estate team.

Mr Goodman is joined by his wife, Nicole, and son, Ricky, along with a team of property managers and consultants.

Mr Goodman chose to join O’Brien due to its reputation as a brand.

“O’Brien has built a brand that has a reputation on being open and honest. We [have] genuine belief in the O’Brien brand and its values and look forward to working closely with the group,” the director said.

CoreLogic data shows that Craigieburn is an area on the rise, with both house and unit prices increasing over the year.

House prices have risen by 17.1 per cent over the year to sit at a median sale price of $500,000, while units have risen by 8.85 per cent to $359,000.
