First National Real Estate, in conjunction with the Seven Network, has announced its sponsorship of the Seven News Young Achiever Awards.
The awards conducted on a state-by-state basis highlight and acknowledge the achievements of young Australians.
First National’s chief executive, Ray Ellis, said that the network was committed to encouraging young people to achieve and build successful careers.
“Young people need all the support and encouragement they can get to step up, lead and innovate,” the chief executive said.
The sponsorship goes hand in hand with the network’s own initiatives that allow their own young achievers to attend a series of informal events hosted by talented people in the workforce.
“This sponsorship aligns perfectly with the network’s own commitment to its under-35s through the ‘FN Squad’, which just this week has heard from Dr Joanna Newton, Keely Johnson and Tamika Jones of MyndShyft, plus the network’s own young achievers at a series of informal events nationally,” the chief executive added.
Mr Ellis was grateful for the support of Channel 7 in sponsoring the awards and for driving forward innovation.
“We welcome Channel 7 joining us in a national sponsorship of the Young Achiever Awards and will continue to drive innovation and leadership skills within the industry,” Mr Ellis said.
Last year, the winner of the First National Innovation Award was 23-year-old Ciara Duffy from Western Australia who was doing PhD research on honey bee venom and its role in treating triple negative breast cancer.
Keely Johnson, a 19-year-old from Queensland, was recognised for her work in combating childhood cancer, and 28-year-old Dr Joanna Newton from Victoria was awarded for her work with students and junior scientists to encourage the adoption of genetic tools and tech in the dairy industry.
