Harcourts Hobart agents are slipping into their Lycra costumes this Friday in support of HeartKids Super Boss Day, which raises money for congenital heart disease.

Harcourts Hobart is teaming up with Hit 100.9 for the day and proceeds generated from Super Boss Day go towards HeartKids, the only national charity dedicated to supporting kids with congenital heart disease.

Congenital heart disease is the leading cause of death in babies under the age of one in Australia and four lives are tragically lost each week.

Harcourts Hobart property consultant Ben Vance said that this is the second year that his office has gotten behind the cause to raise funds.

“Our target this Friday is $2,000 and we hope that we’ll surpass this amount on the day,” Mr Vance said.

Mr Vance added that the local community has really got behind them in showing support.

“Local businesses have [gotten] behind us to show support by donating supplies for our BBQ and by donating prices for our raffle.

“It’s great to be involved in our local community by providing much-needed support like this. It’s also a lot of fun on the day.”

Mr Vance and his team encourage people to get involved by dressing up and raising funds on Friday.

“We invite people to join us for some food, drinks and entertainment and help us raise some much-needed funds,” the property consultant said.

The funds this year will go towards HeartKids support services, including their new Family Coping program.

The program, piloted recently, is a specially designed service to assist families in navigating through trauma and help them manage the challenges associated with congenital heart disease.

To date, HeartKids has raised over $3.5 million, which has funded research for and management of the disease.
