REINSW announced its top auctioneers last week after a hard-fought competition among the best in the state.

The REINSW Senior Auctioneers Competition was held last week, with the winners joining other state winners at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships in New Zealand later this year.

The top two of the competition were Clarence White from BresicWhitney and Stuart Ritchie from McGrath.

This will be the third time that Mr White has competed in the Australasian Auctioneering Championships, while Mr Ritchie is competing for the first time.

The championships are an annual event conducted by the Real Estate Institute of Australia and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand.

Mr Ritchie told REINSW that he was excited and looking forward to competing in New Zealand.

“I am not nervous, as much as I am excited. I have wanted to try my hand at the championships for a few years now and am very much looking forward to it,” Mr Ritchie said.

Mr White, after being a runner-up last year, said that he was ready to take on the best auctioneers to win the title.

“There are some truly outstanding auctioneers vying for the title. It’s an extremely difficult competition to win. This year, I will be doing everything I can to ensure I am ready for the challenge,” Mr White said.

Both auctioneers said that participating in the competition has had professional benefits for them.

“Once a client heard I was a finalist, he said he’d better list his property and have me as the auctioneer,” Mr Ritchie said.

“Being a finalist and winner in these awards is great for my career. It’s a talking point for agents in listing situations, and a slight competitive advantage,” Mr White said.

The NSW winners will join Daniel Harris and Karl Secondis from the Northern Territory and Luke Banitsiotis and Michael Wood from Victoria at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships on 14–16 October 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand.
