The Barry Plant Group hosted its 2018 Awards for Excellence last week at a flash black-tie occasion at the Palladium at Crown Melbourne.

The Geelong office had an outstanding night as, along with its high-performance agent Chari Emirzade taking out a raft of sales awards, it also won Franchisee of the Year and Property Management Department of the Year. Kelly Kules from the same office won the gong for Business Development Manager of the Year.

The Rowville and Mitchell Shire offices were awarded Top Office of the Year in their categories. Mitchell Shire also picked up five of the top 10 Top Sellers in the Sales Person with No PA category.

Barry Plant Manningham took out the Top Office of the Year (Large) award for the 10th time since 2008 — particularly commendable as the management team have opened a new office in Eltham and taken over the existing Barry Plant Blackburn office in the last 12 months.

The Pakenham-Drouin offices picked up a Directors Recognition Award for their top administrator, Karin Ketteringham, as well as a Property Management Growth award, with sales agent Terri Fellows taking the number two spot in her category in Top Seller, Top Lister and Top Performer.

Chris Kavanagh, a director of Barry Plant Coburg, fought off a number of highly experienced auctioneers to claim the 2018 title of Senior Auctioneer of the Year.

Other notable individual winners include:

Brendan Flynn, Mitchell Shire; Ashley Hutson, Lilydale; and Chari Emirzade, Geelong — awarded Top Seller in their respective categories.

Roy Khoder, Glenroy office; Ashley Hutson, Lilydale; and Chari Emirzade, Geelong — awarded Top Lister in their respective categories.

Juliette Zhou, Manningham; Ashley Hutson, Lilydale; and Mark Di Giulio, Manningham — achieved the highest accolade of Top Performer in their categories.

Agents Ashley Hutson and Chari Emirzade took out top honours in two categories.

It was also a night full of awards for property management, with Camille Ladao from the Melton office taking out the Rising Star award, Kelley O’Donnell from the Rowville office winning Portfolio Manager of the Year as well the Geelong office’s wins of Property Management Department of the Year and their Kelly Kules winning Business Development Manager of the Year.

CEO and director Mike McCarthy was delighted with the event and the results that were unveiled.

“Even though it’s been a challenging market, we’ve continued to achieve outstanding results, proving, I believe, that when the market does get tough, sellers look for a well-established brand with a history of success to sell their property.

“The other great outcome was that there were so many new award winners this year. People who have been part of our group for several years who’ve taken advantage of our training, systems and mentoring and are now flourishing and writing big numbers.”
