Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate has appointed an experienced real estate professional to head up its Queensland operations.

Simon Thomas has been appointed as an area manager for BHGRE in Queensland.

CEO Simon Cashman said that Mr Thomas is one of the most experienced real estate identities currently operating in the industry, after starting out in Melbourne almost 20 years ago as a buyer’s agent for James Tostevin.

“Simon quickly established himself and became a successful agent in his own right in the competitive eastern suburbs property market before a sea-change to NSW’s Byron Bay hinterland market.

“For the past 10 years, he has been based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, where he has worked for brands such as Harcourts, Ray White and McGrath in various capacities.”

Mr Cashman said that Mr Thomas has a varied skill set.

“Simon is an experienced auctioneer, sales trainer and sales coach, having operated a successful business incorporating all three, working with sales agents and assistants and principals and sales managers.”

Mr Thomas said that he was thrilled to be joining BHGRE.

“To provide an opportunity for business owners and agents to partner with Australia’s most recognisable and exciting lifestyle brand.

“The Better Homes and Gardens brand has an exceptional nationwide reputation of delivering people an abundance of ideas, the inspiration to create and the information to achieve.”

Mr Thomas said that the BHGRE franchise will be an extension of this, adding “enormous” value to franchise partners.

“The media strategy being implemented with Seven West Media nationally will showcase the BHGRE franchise in a way never seen before within the real estate industry.”

The BHGRE industry launch will be held in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne on 12, 13 and 14 November, respectively.
