RateMyAgent has launched its first consumer-facing campaign to help sellers choose a real estate agent.

The real estate agent ratings and statistics website provides recommendations, rankings and reviews of real estate agents in Australia.

Verified reviews are attached to the respective property listing, ensuring the information provided is unique to the agent and from a genuine seller or buyer.

The business aims to reach more consumers with this new Real Reviews That Help You Choose campaign.

The campaign aims to help sellers feel confident and in control of choosing a real estate agent through advice and reviews from other local home owners.

With more than 600,000 verified reviews from home owners across Australia, the business mentioned that the platform gets a review for one in every three properties sold nationwide.

“We’re proud to launch our first consumer brand campaign — it is the right time in RateMyAgent’s growth to really put us on the map with home owners,” RateMyAgent CEO Mark Armstrong said.

“More than 34,000 agents already use the service.”

According to Mr Armstrong, as people already use reviews for daily purchases, this move allows them to do the same when intending on selling their homes by capturing the “true power” of local reviews.

“It makes sense to do the same for one of life’s biggest financial decisions,” he added.

The company also most recently released its quarterly Price Expectation Report for January to March 2019, which found that sellers’ satisfaction is on the rise in 2019, as agents begin to increasingly achieve higher than expected sale prices.

“All the doom and gloom news from last year has left sellers adjusting to a new reality,” Mr Armstrong said.

“Not only are they realising that it’s not that bad, but they’ve adjusted their sales expectations, so their results are turning out better than they anticipated.”

In addition, it listed real estate’s most popular names in Australia, along with its most influential, endangered and the ones that clock the highest client satisfaction in its The Agent Name report.

It found that the most productive agents are those named Lucas, selling on average 25 properties per year. This is followed by Jarrod, Will, Clare and Marc, with 24 per year.

It also found that Alexander was the top name in the group above $1 million in property sales prices, with an average of $1.5 million. This was followed by William, Fred and Ivan, all with averages of $1.2 million.
