The digital giant has established a formidable reputation for entering and dominating new markets. Now it has its sights set on real estate.
On 23 July, US-listed real estate services company Realogy announced that it would be collaborating with Amazon to launch TurnKey, a homebuying program that simplifies the process of finding and settling into a new home.
The program is now available in 15 US cities and is being used by major agencies including Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, ERA and Sotheby’s International Realty.
“Realogy and our brands are always looking for ways to give consumers an awesome homebuying experience with a terrific real estate agent, and the launch of TurnKey is a big part of that continued strategy,” Realogy’s chief executive officer and president, Ryan M. Schneider, said.
“Realogy’s great affiliated agents serve their clients during one of the most important moments in their lives, and Amazon’s services and products can transform that moment to make it rewarding in a way no one ever has before.”
Amazon’s director of home services, Pat Bigatel, said customers can be overwhelmed when moving, which is why the group is excited to be working with Realogy to offer home buyers a simplified way to settle into a new home.
“The Amazon Move-In Benefit will enable home buyers to adapt the offering to their needs — from help assembling furniture to assisting with smart home device set-up to a deep clean and more.”
TurnKey essentially connects home buyers to the leading agents in their area. Matched according to the home buyer’s profile, TurnKey agents, who are affiliated with one of Realogy’s trusted residential real estate brands, have been selected based on their exceptional customer service record and local market expertise. Amazon Home Services then allows new home owners options to customise their new home with a variety of products and services.
