McGrath Estate Agents has appointed an ex-principal to its Edgecliff team to help boost sales in the Sydney eastern suburbs.

Albert Sassoon joins McGrath after two decades in the industry, most recently as principal of Belle Property Double Bay, but prior to that was principal of Laing+Simmons in Bondi.

Mr Sassoon has been involved in a number of million-dollar sales throughout the eastern suburbs and said there was without a doubt strong buyer demand in the area.

“My buyers tend not to be discretionary but are upgraders or downsizers that are keen to transact. Due to limited availability, some buyers are making compromises to secure a home due to a change in circumstances, or the need to be closer to school catchment zones,” he said.

Mr Sassoon said he was attracted to McGrath because of its resources, training and coaching as he is a firm believer in ongoing education.

“I believe ongoing education is incredibly important to anyone’s success. But most importantly, I would not be competing with a selling principal and part of a well-capitalised company.”

McGrath regional sales manager James Hayashi said he was thrilled to welcome Mr Sassoon to the sales division given his reputation in the area.

“He is well known and respected as an area specialist for premium properties within Sydney’s eastern suburbs, and he will continue to focus servicing his clients in Vaucluse, Dover Heights, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay and North Bondi,” he said.

Recruiter for McGrath Adrian Bo, who has been with McGrath for 26 years, said that Mr Sassoon embodied the type of agent that the group looked for when hiring.

“Not only is he a skilled negotiator, he is authentic and equally passionate about servicing his clients so they can make informed decisions,” Mr Bo said.

“Importantly, he comes to McGrath with a strong market profile, database and a good support team, including a young and dynamic associate agent, Michael Aubussun. They will hit the ground running.”
