A small Sydney-based real estate company has expanded outside the Harbour City, opening its first office in Newcastle.
Laing+Simmons has welcomed the team formerly at Nest Realty Group as it expands its network in NSW.
Real estate agent Michael Barber will lead the Charlestown-based team, and he has growth and recruitment on his agenda.
“In Charlestown specifically, we’re typically seeing around 300 properties transacting each year,” Mr Barber said. “This is perhaps Newcastle’s growth heartland at present. We’ve seen new developments spring up along the Pacific Highway corridor in recent years and there’s more to come.”
The growth in the area is part of the reason the Charlestown team has aligned with Laing+Simmons, as they can now leverage its specialist project marketing division.
“We see a major opportunity for growth and our new brand will help facilitate this, as we’re able to add additional value to our customers through the property life cycle, from off-the-plan sales through to new builds and resales of established homes,” he said.
Although prices have fallen since the peak about a year ago, Mr Barber has seen values in the area stabilise.
“With the strong population growth Newcastle’s key connected suburbs are now experiencing, the housing market can be expected to return to long-term growth trends. Bricks and mortar continues to be an attractive investment for people looking for financial security and peace of mind.”
