A large crowd gathered for the opening of Marshall.Chan.Yahl, as the new agency cements its roots as an independent firm in Sydney’s North Shore.
The agency has had its doors open for a couple of months, and the Gordon and St Ives communities have welcomed it.
The agency sold 19 properties in its first two months, and it has a scope for where it wants to head.
“We have big plans for next year,” director James Yahl told Real Estate Business. “We want some exciting people to join the team.”
With it being a small agency, the team there can move swiftly to introduce new technology and provide the support agents and clients need.
“We can do what we say we are going to do,” director William Chan said.
Director Craig Marshall used to run an agency which had about 60 salespeople, and now he has cut back.
“We’ve trimmed the tree,” he said. “We’ve got the good people here, and now we are going to grow it back with a good strong team.
“We are not going to pad the team. We want a good, solid and successful team. That is what our goal is, so we are going to be a bit selective.”
The team at Marshall.Chan.Yahl is on the lookout for the right people with the potential to grow.
“You can make a good person better, you can make a very good person fantastic, but you can’t make a lazy person anything,” Mr Marshall said.
“So we have to get these people to keep striving for more. The ones who aren’t motivated and are no good, you can’t do anything with them.
“We want to grow people to their potential. We want to do it carefully. We are not in a rush.”
