A luxury two-storey penthouse overlooking the Sydney Harbour has become Australia’s most expensive home.
The apartment is part of the One Sydney Harbour residential project, and it has fetched more than $140 million.
It has been designed as a single residence, but it has an additional third floor that can function as a separate residence.
The home will have nine bedrooms, with more than 1,600 square metres of living space. To make sure the views of the harbour are enjoyed, it boasts a private roof-top pool, spa and gymnasium. The master bedroom will also be bigger than most homes.
Lendlease is behind the project, and it confirmed the buyer who wants to make the apartment their home is a local.
“The record-breaking penthouse sale is confirmation that the Barangaroo South precinct is a world-leading location where people aspire to live, work and visit,” Lendlease property CEO Kylie Rampa said.
“Demand for residences throughout the tower has been extremely high, attracting strong local and global interest.
“A key differentiator for the One Sydney Harbour towers is that we’ve curated the entire precinct surrounding it, which ensures everything works together, complements each other and is considered holistically.”
The company has also sold seven other whole-floor apartments, global head of product and sales Ben Christie said.
“With such strong interest to date, we are confident that the balance of the building will be highly sought after in the coming weeks,” he said.
