A former Sydney real estate agent has appeared in court for the second time this year, this time for breaking and entering and stealing a vacuum cleaner.
Kally Fitzgerald appeared in court in January after she stole a credit card during an open home, and then she went on a $3,200 spending spree, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The former LJ Hooker agent was back in court on Monday and pleaded guilty in the Manly Local Court to breaking into a home and stealing a Dyson vacuum cleaner, a Montblanc pen and a Leatherman multi-tool while she was drunk.
After her last court appearance, she was placed on a 12-month Community Corrections Order, which meant she was not allowed to drink alcohol.
Although she had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous, Ms Fitzgerald told the court she started drinking again after an argument with her husband on Anzac Day.
That is the day she broke into a Bilgola home by pulling out the window louvres and reaching in to unlock the sliding door.
She was found two hours later by police and ambulance officers near the Bilgola Beach car park in an intoxicated state.
“I am deeply ashamed for my behaviour,” Ms Fitzgerald told the court.
Her lawyer applied section 32 of the Mental Health Act to try and have her charges dismissed.
The magistrate, Michelle Goodwin, will wait for a full psychiatric and medical report to be completed to conclude the hearing of the section 32 application, and she adjourned the matter until 21 April 2020.
