Leading information and market intelligence platform for Australia’s real estate sector REB (realestatebusiness.com.au) has today revealed its new-look content team.
The team has been expanded considerably to underpin the growth of the brand and cements REB’s position as the information platform for Australia’s real estate agents, principals and property managers.
For over a decade, REB has supported the evolving real estate sector, with today’s announcement being the latest in a series of developments for the brand to propel it into the 2020s.
Launched in 2007, REB includes daily breaking news and analysis for the real estate industry; the interactive web platform www.realestatebusiness.com.au; live streaming; the hugely popular Secrets of the Top 100 Agents podcast; plus a number of events, including the REB Awards and REB Women in Real Estate Awards, which will be held in late 2020.
The brand also delivers the key benchmark reports for the nation’s real estate industry, including the REB Top 100 Agents, REB Top 50 Sales Offices, REB Top 50 Women in Real Estate and the REB Dealmakers.
Complementing REB is RPM (Residential Property Manager) launched in 2009 to support the property management sector.
The content team will be led by executive editor Phillip Tarrant, who is charged with the growth and development of REB and RPM as well as setting the content agenda.
He is supported by editor Emma Ryan and a team of dedicated property and business journalists including Grace Ormsby, Cameron Micallef and Hannah Dowling.
According to Alex Whitlock, director – real estate, Momentum Media, the reinforced content team arms REB and RPM with the resourcing and talent to boost the brand into the future while delivering enhanced value for commercial stakeholders.

PHILLIP TARRANT
Executive editor – Real Estate, Momentum Media
Phillip is a media executive with over 20 years’ experience in a career that spans finance, property, business, economics, international politics, defence and aerospace. He has led the launch, acquisition and growth of a range of award-winning business and consumer platforms and is recognised for his expertise in building highly connected communities. Phillip has a passion for property, and as the content leader of Momentum Media’s property business, he is charged with the growth and development of REB (Real Estate Business) as well as its consumer platform Smart Property Investment. Phillip has a master’s degree in international relations and a bachelor’s degree in political science.
EMMA RYAN
Editor, REB and RPM
Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, and has since been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia across the legal, mortgages, real estate and wealth industries. In addition, Emma has launched several additional sub-brands and events, driven by a passion to deliver quality and timely content to audiences through multiple platforms. Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of New South Wales, before taking on a radio journalist role for Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland. She graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism).
GRACE ORMSBY
Journalist, REB and RPM
Grace is a journalist across Momentum property and investment brands. Grace joined Momentum Media in 2018, bringing with her a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) from the University of Newcastle. She’s passionate about delivering easy-to-digest information and content relevant to her key audiences and stakeholders.
CAMERON MICALLEF
Journalist, REB and RPM
Cameron is a journalist across Momentum property and investment brands, joining the business in 2019. He attended the University of Wollongong where he obtained a double degree in journalism and commerce. As a self-confessed finance nerd, Cameron enjoys chatting with industry experts and commentators to leverage their insights and deliver insightful commentary for the markets he serves.
HANNAH DOWLING
Journalist, REB and RPM
Hannah is a journalist with a background in business and finance reporting. She has worked for Momentum since 2019 across the company’s mortgages and real estate brands. Prior to joining Momentum, Hannah was a content producer. She graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Media and Journalism.
