McGrath Estate Agents has reported strong buyer engagement as transactions continue with its agents amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
McGrath CEO Geoff Lucas said while much has changed due to social distancing and other measures brought on as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, agents are adapting well to the new normal.
“Our agents are working very closely with their clients as they continue to transact effectively and, in many cases, very quickly,” Mr Lucas said.
“The dynamics have changed as the social distancing required by COVID-19 health and safety measures have brought a more personalised service to the industry.”
Mr Lucas said McGrath has been utilising its technology capabilities to combat any challenges, but at the same time, it’s ensuring it retains its focus on offering that personalised service one on one.
“While we are benefiting from bringing forward the advanced technology we have in place, we have ultimately reverted to good, old-fashioned, one-on-one buyer appointments, and I believe this will have a long-term positive impact on the real estate industry,” he explained.
“Our agents are proactively sharing their qualified buyer database across the McGrath network, bringing a greater number of active buyers to each of our listings.”
Mr Lucas added that McGrath is seeing the benefit of agents “who have developed a strong relationship with their clients, now being used as a trusted adviser on movements within the market and areas in which they specialise”.
“Their knowledge is being used as source of intelligent information that is assisting motivated buyers transact quickly as their criteria have shifted,” he said.
“As buyers are not spending their Saturdays on the road attending open homes, benefiting from virtual tours and video streaming, their criteria are also changing as a result of working remotely. Consequently, there is a measurable shift as social drivers are changing their requirements.
“Lifestyle and home has never been more important and our agents working more closely than ever with buyers as they move forward.”
