This year’s Top 100 Agents ranking reveals what the best agents bring to the table, from average years of experience to number of support staff.
The REB Top 100 Agents ranking, partnered exclusively by ActivePipe, was handed down on Tuesday, 28 April.
The ranking sets the benchmark for success in residential real estate sales, identifying those a cut above the rest.
Analysis of the ranking for this year can reveal the average profile of someone who makes a Top 100 agent.
Average years of experience
According to the ranking, a typical top 100 agent in 2020 has 16 years’ experience. This is the same as 2018’s results.
Meanwhile, the profile of a top 10 agent in 2020 is someone with 20 years’ experience, on average.
This has remained largely consistent year-on-year, with the average years of experience being 20.7 in 2019, 21 in 2018, 22 in 2017 and 18 in 2016 for the top 10.
Average number of support staff
The typical top 100 agent has two support staff in 2020; meanwhile, a typical top 10 agent has three.
These figures represent the same amount an average top 100 and top 10 agent had in 2019, suggesting the support measures in place remained sufficient year-on-year.
Average number of sales per agent
When it comes to total number of sales per agent, the average top 100 agent recorded 91 for the period in question. Meanwhile, a top 10 agent recorded 127, on average.
This differs than in years past, with the average top 100 agent recording 93 in 2019, and top 10, 144.
Average commission
The average amount of commission remained similar this year to years past.
In 2020, the average top 100 agent nabbed 1.77 per cent commission, while a top 10 agent nabbed 1.67 per cent.
In 2019, the average top 100 agent nabbed 1.62 per cent commission and the average top 10 agent nabbed 1.67 per cent commission.
