Stone Real Estate has added a new offering on the Gold Coast to its Queensland network with the onboarding of an industry veteran to head up the agency.
Brendan Andrews will take up the helm at the new venture, after joining Stone from his independent agency.
Servicing Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, Currumbin and beyond, the principal has made the switch for a number of reasons, including Stone’s technology and business structure.
“The Stone model is the polar opposite of what I’ve seen entrenched throughout the industry and in the traditional brands,” Mr Andrews said.
“I can easily say Stone are the most progressive implementers of technology and ideas of any network or franchise I’ve ever come across.”
Driven by a desire to be positioned at the industry’s cutting edge, the newest Stone principal commented: “I honestly believe anyone who feels they can keep operating in real estate in essentially the same way they have for decades is making a mistake — and I’m not just talking about technology.”
Applauding the agility of Stone’s management team, Mr Andrews added that “agents nowadays need to ensure they are surrounded by people who are on a mission for change and innovation”.
It’s especially relevant given the current COVID-19 crisis, and while some agents would balk at the leap from an independent agency to a boutique network amid such uncertainty, the agent doesn’t share such a belief, saying: “Right now, when the market is a lot tougher, why wouldn’t you want the best tools, resources and business support on the shelf to work with?
“How successful you will be as an agent has everything to do with your agency’s overall cultural approach.
“Stone fosters collaboration, which I’ve never experienced before in a real estate network.”
Weighing in on the 18 years of experience Mr Andrews will bring to the network, head of Stone Real Estate Queensland Scott Kelly said: “We’ve established a high-performance culture in Stone Queensland from the start and it is underpinned by quality people and business partners such as Brendan.
“Brendan and his team’s market presence across the in-demand suburbs of Palm Beach, Currumbin, Burleigh Heads and Elanora is highly strategic for us to service and grow into, as this enhances the strong historical connection of these areas to our formidable Sydney and future Brisbane clientele.”
