Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has unveiled new restrictions on real estate agents as part of the stage 4 crackdown in Melbourne.
Real estate services have been closed for on-site work in metropolitan Melbourne.
Under stage 4 ‘Stay at Home’ restrictions, the Victorian Government has revealed “the default is that workplaces in metropolitan Melbourne are closed”.
Speaking to press on 3 August, Mr Andrews said they “are undertaking an exercise that has never been done before”.
“There is no playbook, no handbook for a global pandemic of this nature”.
The closure is just one of dozens of new restrictions placed on businesses and workplaces across Melbourne, with Mr Andrews having grouped the city’s businesses, services and operations into three categories: Closed (for on-site work), Open (for on-site work) with a COVID safe plan, or restricted operations or industry specific operations.
More clarity will be provided by the state government in coming days, with the Premier noting progressive announcements will occur “to give people the clarity and the certainty that they need”.
More to come.
