Harcourts Coastal has marked its 10th year servicing the Gold Coast real estate market with a new record-breaking sales run.

Business owners Dane and Kym Atherton first opened the doors of Harcourts Coastal in Broadbeach in 2011, with the aim of imparting “positive impacts” for real estate professionals in a turbulent market.

“We started Harcourts Coastal in the post-GFC market where the general sentiment across our industry was quite negative, with staff cutbacks and a slumping market,” Mr Atherton said.

“We deliberately set out to create positive impacts for anyone who joined our team, which then comprised only three people.

“Our philosophy has always been that our primary client is the team. Our events, our training and our culture are precious commodities. These assets are our focus. That feeling and culture in our team, in turn, shapes how we care for our sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants.”

Now boasting a 135-strong team, the agency has successfully dominated the Gold Coast region — holding the title of Harcourts Australia’s number one agency for the past six years.

Mr Atherton himself — who was named Queensland’s best auctioneer — has reportedly assisted over 8,000 Queenslanders to achieve their property goals.

Having achieved a whopping $2 billion worth of sales in the 2021 financial year alone, Harcourts Australia CEO Marcus Williams commended Mr and Mrs Atherton for their achievements in the past decade, particularly the trusting relationships they had built with home buyers, home owners, landlords and tenants across the Gold Coast.

He expressed: “To achieve 10 years of continuous growth, across such a sizeable team of professionals, without losing sight of the philosophy and ambition is a testament to their values.

“There would be only a handful of businesses in Australia who sell anywhere near $2 billion a year in property. I remember celebrating when Harcourts Coastal achieved the milestones of $1 billion — it pales in comparison today.”
