REB can now reveal whether agents and property managers would be in breach of public health orders if they were to conduct end-of-lease or pre-sale cleaning, maintenance or repairs during the current pause on construction and cleaning services.
Following a number of questions posed by readers, REB went directly to NSW Health, requesting clarification on the public health order that paused construction and cleaning services across Greater Sydney until 30 July.
In response to that request, REB received the following statement from a NSW Health spokesperson: “Directions relating to prohibiting cleaning and trades work have been amended in the Public Health Order so that cleaning, maintenance and repairs is permitted in unoccupied residential premises in Greater Sydney, provided it is necessary for the sale or lease of the premises.”
