After 21 years on air, Gold Coast radio presenter Jo Lynch has made a big jump into real estate, joining one of Australia’s largest national networks.

The former 92.5 Triple M on-air personality will now take on the role of sales and marketing specialist at LJ Hooker Coolangatta | Tweed.

Talking about her decision to swap her microphone for open inspections, Ms Lynch said while she has long enjoyed buying and selling properties, it was the negotiation process for her waterfront home in Tweed Heads West in August 2020 that truly sparked her passion for real estate.

“After settlement, the agent we were dealing with turned around and said to my partner Ryan, ‘She should be in real estate’, and I thought, ‘Why not – let’s do it’.

“So I decided to get my real estate license and it’s the best thing I ever did. I wish I did it 10 years ago,” according to her.

Looking ahead, the newly minted sales and marketing specialist aims to take advantage of the fact that her skills on radio translate nicely to real estate, particularly in terms of “getting the best out of people” through communication.

“It’s a skill getting people to open up,” Ms Lynch highlighted.

“On the radio, sometimes people don’t always want to talk. It’s about asking the right things, then suddenly they start talking.

“Real estate is not very different. I believe communication is first and foremost, and I’m incredibly excited about this new career change.”

Still – it’s a big jump from radio to real estate, which led Ms Lynch to explain her decision to join LJ Hooker felt like the right first step to garner the support and opportunities that she needed.

“It was also very enticing to work alongside some of the big-name agents in this region,” she commented.

LJ Hooker Group’s head of network performance Stephen Mutton said Ms Lynch’s background as a communicator and her extensive local knowledge of as a ‘long-time Southern Gold Coaster’ will make her an asset to the team across the Coolangatta, Tweed and Palm Beach area.

“To have someone with such a profile join the network reflects the strength of our brand nationally as well as our team on the Southern Gold Coast,” according to Mr Mutton.

LJ Hooker Coolangatta | Tweed principal Daniel Alexander echoed these sentiments, noting that Ms Lynch’s “vibrant personality, extensive network and people skills” will ultimately hold her in great stead as she enters a new chapter of her working life.

“The activity in the Tweed Heads market has never been stronger and with the support of the LJ Hooker network, Jo is sure to hit the ground running.”
