Coronis is seeking help for a colleague who is battling cancer and contending with a costly treatment plan.

Lia Storer, the REB property manager of the year – regional at the REB Awards 2021, is the owner of a Coronis franchise in Gippsland, Victoria.

Devastatingly, Ms Storer was diagnosed with cervical cancer that has since spread to her lymph nodes and liver. Her treatment, which isn’t covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, is currently setting her back $7,000 per month.

To assist the single mother, who has kids aged 17, 15 and three, Coronis is rallying support via a gofundme initiative to help Ms Storer pay her medical bills.

Coronis franchise director Jodie Stainton has reflected on how much Ms Storer has contributed over the years to her local community and the Coronis network, whom she is now hoping will lend Ms Storer support.

“Lia was instrumental in Coronis breaking ground in Victoria as she was the first to rebrand her office, and since then has assisted bringing on several Coronis partners and helped get them up and running in their own business,” Ms Stainton said.

“She has always had a big heart, and supporting others is in her DNA – it doesn’t matter if they are a competitor or not, she’s all about improving the property management industry.”

Ms Stainton credited Ms Storer with helping Coronis develop its franchise model and contributing to creating a shared vision for the company’s future.

“Lia is such a big part of our Coronis franchise community as well – she helps all the partners with their social media strategy, skill sets, marketing, prospecting, you name it she just loves to help others and gives her time so freely,” Ms Stainton said, noting that her willingness to help has made her well known to many in the property management industry.

“She’s also been really involved in the online property management communities and Facebook groups across Australia – she’s been an influencer in the industry for some time, always contributing, participating in training events and speaking at conferences.”

Ms Stainton urged people in Ms Storer’s network to do what they could to help someone who has always been happy to lend a helping hand herself. “As an industry, I would love to see everyone wrap their arms around her and help change not only her future, but her family’s future. Together, I really believe we can repay the contribution she’s made to our industry.”
