One year into launching his new business, this Melbourne agent has managed to double his GCI.
Di Battista Real Estate first took off in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, founded on the concept of providing superior service to the people of Craigieburn and surrounding Melbourne suburbs.
Daniel Di Battista, the business owner behind the brand, said the result from the first year of the UrbanX-backed outfit had completely exceeded his expectations.
“My goal for our first year was to write $400,000 – in my last year with my previous agency, I wrote $300,000. Coming up now at the end of year one, we have exceeded our goal by over $200,000.”
According to Mr Di Battista, he and his dad commenced the new agency to take advantage of the fact that “people were listing with them, not their old agency”.
“I knew we could use our name, which has a good reputation here, to our advantage and do real estate the way we ourselves would expect to be treated – with white-glove service.”
One of his greatest achievements since kicking off Di Battista Real Estate has been doing things how he wants and having the freedom to do so, Mr Di Battista noted.
He said: “We’ve ditched the whole cookie-cutter approach to selling a house.”
While he admitted it took his father “a little while to come around to it because he was very agency-orientated for the last 15 years”, the business owner explained that their new approach focuses on: “What’s best for the owner? How can I get them the best money?”
He’s also credited UrbanX and CEO Dan Argent for allowing them to focus their time on listings and selling.
“We’re area specialists who tackle a large variety of listings,” Mr Di Battista flagged.
“The thing we love most about our core suburb is its diversity in buyers and property types. Entry-level properties like townhouses and apartments start in the $300,000’s, but we also have great quality properties and acreage that can be more than $1 million. So, we get to help first home buyers, upsizing families, and even developers.”
Reflecting back on the past 12 months, the agency owner said, “it’s been the most fun, challenging, rewarding, and best year in my career!”
Looking ahead, and with Melbourne on the cusp of emerging from lockdown, Mr Di Battista said he’s excited for the city to “open up and the opportunities that will present” – aiming to grow his market share in Di Battista Real Estate’s second year of operation.
