The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) is praising the state’s agents for the impressive results they logged in the organisation’s inaugural blood and plasma donation challenge.
Running a friendly competition between agencies to see who could record the greatest number of donations, REIQ recently announced the results of the three-month drive.
Jones Lang La Salle (JLL) came out on top with 108 donations, while Place Estate Agents initiated the highest number of donors to the cause, with 19 new donors taking part. Finally, Elders contributed the greatest percentage of plasma donations through the course of the initiative.
“The REIQ launched the inaugural REIQ Real Estate Blood Challenge in order to help Lifeblood boost donations and life-giving moments to patients in need, at a crucial time when the demand for blood was dramatically escalating,” REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said of the impetus behind the event.
Thirty-three agencies across the state took part in the initiative, which Ms Mercorella said proved to be a fun way to stoke competition, but also showed what the sector could achieve when pooling its strength.
“The REIQ Real Estate Blood Challenge saw more than 500 donators, 111 of which were new donors, who provided 694 blood and plasma donations and made a life-saving difference to 2,082 lives in local communities across Queensland,” she reported.
“Thank you to our hard-working agents for responding to the need and rising to the occasion – yet another example of how our real estate profession can achieve amazing things when we work together.”
