Over 100 Gold Coast real estate industry members took a recent Thursday afternoon off to tee up for a good cause.
Agents and industry professionals convened at the Palm Meadows Golf Course on 25 November to raise money for Red Nose Day in an event organised by realestate.com.au.
Opting to don red shirts rather than red noses, participants included the likes of Ray White Robina, LJ Hooker Broadbeach, NGU Real Estate, Venture Property, Hope Island Realty and Chopper, among others who braved the rain for 18 holes.
Ultimately raising a total of $29,000, the group surpassed their aim to contribute $20,000 to Red Nose’s work. The charity provides counselling services for families who have experienced infant death and stillbirth, facilitates education and safe pregnancy programs, and funds research into the causes of infant mortality.
As host of the event, Andrew Turner, REA Group’s sales manager for Queensland and the Northern Territory, applauded the work of the local area’s professionals in coming together to raise awareness for the charity’s work.
“It was a fantastic day rallying together the Queensland real estate industry to support such an important cause. We received so many generous donations,” he commented.
The first Red Nose Day was held in Australia in 1988 and takes place on the second Friday of every August, though they welcome the support of businesses like realestate.com.au in organising events throughout the year.
